Digital Transformation
Digital Transformation before the AI.
Every AI initiative inherits the data estate underneath it. If the pipelines are brittle, the warehouse is a swamp, and nobody trusts the numbers, the smartest model in the world just automates confusion. We do the transformation work first — lakehouse, pipelines, classical ML, semantic layer — so the AI on top has something to stand on.
- Lakehouse architecture (Azure Medallion / AWS / GCP) sized to your estate, not a vendor's reference deck.
- ETL / ELT with data contracts, lineage, and tests — not cron jobs and hope.
- Classical ML where it beats GenAI: forecasting, scoring, anomaly detection — full MLOps.
- Semantic layer + intelligent dashboards the business actually trusts.
“Without a lakehouse and a semantic layer, your AI is theatre.”

What this means in practice
We read the estate first — systems, pipelines, the reports people actually run the business on — then sequence the transformation so something ships every few weeks. No two-year replatform. Value lands while the foundation is being poured.
- 01
Data estate assessment — systems map, quality audit, prioritised remediation plan.
- 02
Lakehouse reference implementation — medallion layers, orchestration, monitoring, cost model.
- 03
ML pipelines with registry, retraining triggers, and drift alerts — MLOps from day one.
- 04
Semantic layer + dashboard suite mapped to the questions leadership already asks.
Engagement shapes
3 ways to engage on Digital Transformation. Pick the closest fit; we calibrate scope on the diagnostic call.
01
2 wk
Estate assessment
Read the current data estate against where you're trying to go. Output: a systems map, a quality audit, and a sequenced transformation plan with a cost shape.
02
8–16 wk
Foundation build
Lakehouse + pipelines + the first two or three high-value workloads, shipped with your team. Monitoring and runbook included.
03
6–12 mo
Transformation partner
Fractional leadership across the whole modernisation arc — architecture, vendor calls, hiring, governance — while your team builds the muscle.
For
Who this fits
- Enterprises whose AI pilots keep stalling on data quality, access, or trust.
- Mid-market firms running the business on spreadsheets plus a legacy ERP, ready to modernise deliberately.
- CIOs / CDOs who need a lakehouse and a credible ML practice without a 40-person SI engagement.
Not for
Honest gates
- Teams shopping for a dashboard vendor — this is transformation, not tooling procurement.
- Anyone expecting a big-bang replatform with a two-year payoff — we ship in slices or not at all.
FAQ
About this service.
Do we need a lakehouse before doing any AI?
No — and anyone who says otherwise is selling one. Narrow AI use cases can ship against existing systems. But every scaled deployment eventually hits the same wall: inconsistent data, no lineage, no trusted metrics. The assessment tells you the minimum viable foundation for your roadmap — sometimes a lakehouse, sometimes three pipelines and a semantic layer.Azure, AWS, or GCP?
Whichever you're already committed to — the medallion pattern ports across all three. We've shipped an Azure Medallion lakehouse in production for an EU enterprise customer and sized estates on AWS and GCP. Migrating clouds is almost never the highest-value move; using the one you have properly usually is.Classical ML or GenAI — how do you decide?
By the shape of the problem. Forecasting, scoring, anomaly detection, optimisation — classical models win on cost, latency, and explainability. Language, synthesis, and interface problems — GenAI. Most transformations need both, and the same lakehouse feeds either. We are deliberately unromantic about this. Our data quality is bad. How bad is too bad?
It's never too bad to start; it's usually too bad to skip the audit. Quality gets fixed at the pipeline — with contracts, tests, and lineage — not by cleaning spreadsheets forever. The assessment quantifies where the rot is and which fixes unlock the most downstream value. How does this connect to the AI services?
This is the foundation they stand on. RAG needs governed, current documents; agents need reliable APIs and clean state; analytics agents need a semantic layer. The transformation is sequenced so AI workloads light up as their foundations land — not after a multi-year replatform. Can you work alongside our existing SI or internal data team?
Yes — that's the usual shape. We set the architecture, the standards, and the review gates; your team or SI does the volume build; we stay accountable for the outcome. It keeps senior judgment concentrated where it matters and the day-rate bill honest.
